I told you so
Sep 13, 2026
I hate to be the I-told-you-so person, but I ended up in that position way too many times. Because I hated to be that person, I did not do it; I just accepted that it was time to change and help to drive that change. My way to not be that I-told-you-so person was to never say I told you so, but I always still felt bad about that. I knew I could have done something more — that I wasn't being true to my gut. Not because I chose to not mourn the loss and focus on the future, that was the right part, but because I let the thing happen in the first place. To be the I-told-you-so person, you need to be the "I let that happen" person first. Today I still hate to be the "I told you so" person, but I try to avoid it by working on preventing the situation from happening, by being vocal about my thoughts, by gathering data to support it, and by pushing as hard as I think I need to, to make sure my point is made.
